Technology

What is FTTH technology

FTTH (Fiber To The Home) is a technology that brings optical fiber all the way to the subscriber’s apartment or house. It is the fastest and most reliable way to connect to the internet.

  1. OLTProvider equipment at the node
  2. Backbone cableFrom the node to the block or building
  3. PLC splitterSplits the signal between subscribers
  4. Drop cableThe last meters to the apartment
  5. ONU/ONTSubscriber optical terminal

FTTH PON: a passive optical network

In an FTTH PON network (GPON, XGS-PON), one OLT port serves up to 64–128 subscribers through passive PLC splitters. There is no powered active equipment between the node and the subscriber, so the network is more reliable and cheaper to operate.

FTTH cable for every segment

Backbone and distribution cable, including aerial ADSS, runs from the node to the buildings. The FTTH drop cable leads to the subscriber — a thin, bend-resistant cable with G.657 fiber.

Benefits of FTTH technology

Speeds up to 10 Gbit/s, reach up to 20 km without amplifiers, immunity to electromagnetic interference and bandwidth headroom for years ahead.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers about lead times, selection, design and payment.

How long does a quote take, and can you use our specification?

Yes. Send us your specification or network parameters. A manager will check compatibility and prepare a quote.

Is equipment in stock, and how long does preparation take?

We keep core products in stock. Typical order preparation takes 24–48 hours after approval.

What payment and delivery terms are available for partners?

Terms depend on the order volume and delivery schedule. A manager will suggest a suitable arrangement after a brief discussion.

How does FTTH PON differ from FTTB?

With FTTH PON, optical fiber reaches every apartment, while with FTTB it only reaches the building and the signal continues over copper cable. FTTH delivers higher speeds and needs no active equipment in stairwells.
